The enamel craft has a long history. It once appeared in Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome and it rose in our country in Yuan Dynasty and prevailed in Ming and Qing Dynasty. In our country, the enamelwork was applied in royal environment and life by its thick and heavy style and gradually became the most representative authority ware for the Chinese emperor. In ancient China, when enamelware was born with its class attribute, it was destined to have a place of rite. The philosophy of Ming Dynasty based on the Neo-Confucianism of Song Dynasty and inherited and Confucianism of Ancient China. The beauty standard of ware elucidated"rite"The internal cause of ware design focuses on practical use in daily life in Chinese culture and the external cause of origin of enamelware concept focuses more on the cultural exchange between China and western countries. Ming Dynasties is the prosperous period of craft on wares and it has a lot of innovations in daily and rite ware design. In 2000 years of Chinese craft art, Chinese people always absorbs, fuses and innovates the foreign civilization and keeps Chinese own style in complexed social background. The collision between traditional ideas and new ideas made the concept of enamelware come into being by particular social, economic and cultural situations and revealed its art, history and science. The concept of enamelware is the source power of dominant activities and it will find the source of ideas for modern design.
