| The traditional lotus patterns, originated in the primitive society, began in theShang and Zhou, the change of style in the northern and Southern Dynasties, flourishedin the Tang Dynasty to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, popularization. The lotus pattern of inheritance and developmentto today contains a form of various and rich cultural implication. Based on thetraditional lotus pattern as the research object, based on analyzing the historicaldevelopment of lotus patterns change, discusses its application in the modern interiordecoration and design. This is one of the Chinese traditional culture of lotus patterns ofinheritance and development, to promote the development of modern interior designChina has practical significance.This paper firstly introduces the meaning and purpose of the study, the definition ofthe lotus pattern concept, research status at home and abroad, the focus of this paper,methods, and innovation. On this basis, the flow of Chinese traditional lotus pattern isdivided into four periods: period of primitive, the influence of Buddhism culture period,period, widely used in development period. Changes in the social history substitutionthought as the main line of research, based on a large amount of text data and picturecollection, sort out the rheological characteristics of each period of lotus patterns,expounds the artistic characteristics of the lotus patterns in different under the influenceof humanistic thought.Next, the author has analyzed the traditional lotus patterns and cultural connotationand the other: lotus patterns reflect people’s celebration of life, the devout Buddhist, onmoral pursuit and longing for a better life.
