Foreign-related Nursing is a major in secondary vocational schools, a four-year school system. English is a compulsory course in this major. The students in this major are required to have nursing knowledge and effective English performance as well. English teaching must be consistent with students' individual needs and social needs. Therefore, EFL teaching is to develop the students' communicative competence.Task-based language teaching provides a wide range of communicative tasks to the learners. It requires that the learners use target language to complete these tasks, and to learn the language in the process of completing various tasks. In doing so, it can be more effective to train students'English language ability. Task-based language teaching has been applied in basic English teaching for a long time, but it is not widely used in Foreign-related nursing English teaching. Therefore, I adopt TBL teaching approach in English class to prove the assumption that TBL teaching approach is more suitable for English teaching in Foreign-related nursing major by setting up TBL teaching models to match with the characteristics of Foreign-related nursing.In order to do the research more objectively, an experimental research is applied in 6 classes of No.2 Secondary Technical School, in which I have been teaching for 16 years.The thesis consists of five parts. In the first part, the research questions are put forward. In the second part, I expounded the definition, characteristics, structure and principles of TBL teaching and TBL teaching model and its theoretical basis. The third part focus on the various tasks designed in EFL teaching process. In the forth part, I made an experimental study. The last part is the conclusion.By analyzing the experimental data and the questionnaire, it is testified that TBL teaching is more effective in Foreign-related nursing English teaching and can improve the teaching effects more effectively.
