The Application Of Task-based Language Teaching In Vocabulary Learning In The Elementary Class Of Teaching Chinese To Speakers Of Other Languages

Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) was originated from1980s. Scholars andteachers have added weight on it with time passes by. This kind of teaching method,which emphasizes on communicative competence, has become widely use due to itspracticability.This paper is attaching importance to the vocabulary teaching through usingTask-based Language Teaching method. It presents the related theories and design thetasks based on the teaching material and the characteristics of the students, and then putthe tasks into practice. The purpose of this paper is to improve the Chinese languageteaching and learning and hopefully, it will help foreign students grasp Chinesevocabularies better.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter expresses the currentsituation in vocabulary teaching in Teaching Chinese as Second Language and thepurpose of writing this paper. The second chapter is the literature review. It includesboth TBLT and vocabulary teaching. The third chapter is to illustrate the definition oftask, TBLT, TBLT in vocabulary teaching and the theoretical basis of TBLT. The forthchapter is the main part of the paper. It introduces the target and explains the specific oftask designing. There are analysis of teaching material and vocabularies, the principlesof task designing, the designs of tasks, the practical round and the feedback of both thetasks themselves and the teacher’s thoughts on the tasks. The last chapter is a reviewabout the whole paper. It consists of the conclusion and the lack of this paper.
