The prefix problem in modern Chinese is the main concern in this article, which sums up the outstanding achievements of the previous research into the prefix, as the basis for the further summary and analysis, in which way the Chinese prefix and the division of the categorized prefix can be explored, at the same time typical prefix and non-typical prefix, which includes both categorized prefix and developing categorized prefix in the modern Chinese can be re-listed. During the evolution from the perspective of the Chinese prefix to the features of the developing categorized prefix, with Cognitive Grammar as a theoretical guidance, the deep motive formed by the prefix is to be explored.Starting from the overall concern for affixes in modern Chinese and English in the development of its variety as well as the number of the Chinese prefix far less than the English one, whose cause of this phenomenon. The author makes a study of the promoting part in the process of the self development characteristics of the Chinese language influenced by the foreign language in order to analyze this issue and interpretation. It is noteworthy that the differences in number about the prefix and suffix in the Chinese language itself are also to be discussed in this article.
