This paper, based on the ten prefix words in both Chinese and Kor ean, conducts a comparative study on those words of properties. Those ten words are listed as follows:"卫(高)-,(?)(难)-, (?)(老)-,(?) (大)-,(?)(反)-,(?)(半)-,-(?)(软)-, (?)(好)-". The Ko rean examples are selected form the Standard Korean Dictionary while the Chinese ones are chosen form both Modern Chinese Dictionary and A pplied Chinese Dictionary.This paper adopts many research methods such as methods of refere nce, comparative analysis, induction and statistics. It includes four chapters.Chapter 1 is introduction. It gives a brief view of research obje ctives, meanings, objects, methods and prior studies. In prior studie s, this paper mainly focuses on the previous studies conducted by sch olars, adopting the method of reference.In chapter 2, it describes the standard and contents of Chinese w ords in Korean. These words are all selected form the Standard Korean Dictionary. Based on the criterion of Chinese prefix words, this pap er chooses 92 words as research objects. On the basis of the Modern C hinese Dictionary and previous studies, it conducts its study on the 29 words in total according to the standard on prefix words.In chapter 3, on the basis of Chinese words in Korean from select ed dictionaries, this paper uses 10 Korean words of properties as res earch objects. Based on their meanings, suffix roots, sentence struct ures, this paper conducts a comparative study on how the Korean words form Standard Korean Dictionary correspond with their derivatives in Chinese.Chapter 4 is conclusion, summarizing the contents of both chapter 2 and chapter 3.This paper conducts a comparative study on both Chinese and Korea n words in a hope to push forward Korean education, communication bet ween two countries and researches on toots.
