Although translation as a kind of activity has existed for more than thousands of years, under the conditions of cultural globalization and economic integration, translation as a kind of cross-cultural communication is not only a process of transforming between two different languages, but also a process of transplanting between different cultures. And the study on the subject of culture-translation interaction didn't begin until 1990s. When the interaction between culture and translation becomes closer, more and more scholars pay attention to the cultural elements in the translation. But there is still not very much special research on the cultivation of translators'cultural competence. So this thesis is aiming to analyze the interaction between culture and translation, and try to study the question of translators'cultural competence and how to cultivate it. Then analyze some strategies translators should adopt to solve culture problems while translating.As the world steps into the global village, the international communication is more significant. As language is a tool for cultural dissemination and communication, translation is, of course, a bridge and an essential means of cultural understanding and exchange. So translation studies actually are cultural studies, and that is why cultural differences are the main obstacles of translation. On the other hand, translation activities greatly promote cultural communication. The writer gives a lot of examples to prove that in China and some western countries, translation has exerted great effects on their cultures, and that if there had been no translation, people of all nations on earth would not have exchanged their thoughts and feelings, and cultures could not have been communicated, and finally human beings could not have achieved continuous progress. So in the present"global village", it is impossible to talk about knowledge information without the help of translation.According to the abovementioned studies, the writer mainly discusses culture-translation in the globalization era in which translators are endowed with new tasks. That is, they are facing a serious problem on how to deal with the cultural elements in the source languages and to find suitable translation strategies. So the author studies the importance of a translator's cultural competence and how to cultivate it.As for a translator, if he doesn't have any knowledge about the disparity between the two involving cultures, it is impossible for him to have a better comprehension or produce a correct expression of the source language. So to be a good translator, he/she needs to be equipped with an excellent competence of foreign languages as well as all-round culture knowledge. So it's important to increase translators'cultural knowledge, raise their sensitivity to cultural difference, and improve their flexibility to solve the resulting problems. This study is developed with intercultural communication as a main framework,discussing cultural factors in foreign language teaching. This study attempts to emphasize the invisible relationship between language teaching and culture instruction, and to formulate a whole set of hypotheses including basic language teaching, culture teaching, and translators'intercultural communication competence.The study analyses the causes of language differences, and finds that cultural factors in foreign language teaching especially in the training process to translators is of great importance.The study points out that culture teaching does not mean the mere introduction of foreign cultures and simply exert one culture on another. Instead, we should practice bilateral cultural education, building up equal values on language and culture, adopting comparative principles. Similarly understanding a foreign culture requires putting that culture in relation with one's own. In includes a reflection both on the target and on the native culture. In addition, the use of native culture materials in translators'training classroom stimulates the students learning enthusiasmAll in all, what really matters is that the translator must be fully aware of the two cultures concerned, and apply his cultural awareness to the entire translation process. As Chinese translators, we should first base ourselves upon Chinese cultures and our translation work should play a role of promoting Chinese cultural modernization and carrying forward our abundant cultures around the rest of the world.
