Southern Sudan which composed of 10 regions is a state in Sudan, and Juba is the political center. The region included Upper Nile zone, Bahr al-Ghazal zone and the equatorial zone traditionally. Southern Sudan hadn't been known for the outside world in a long time because of depths of the African land-locked and inaccessible. An expedition commanded by Salim, a Turkish frigate captain, left Khartoum with orders from Muhammad Ali, ruler of Egypt, to explore the White Nile in 1839. Since then, the closed state in the region had gradually been broken. The activities of the United Kingdom in Southern Sudan were the most positive in this process. And the United Kingdom also had the most far-reaching impact on Southern Sudan. The British colonial activities in Southern Sudan is divided into three stages of the process which is Britain's colonial attempt to Southern Sudan", Britain's colonial rule of Southern Sudan to establish phase and British rule in Southern Sudan to adjust then end stage. The text divides into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the Britain's colonial attempt to Southern Sudan from 1838 to 1885. By the official forces of Egypt and Western businessmen, missionaries Britain invisibly controlled the situation in Southern Sudan. This Indicated that the British colonial activities in Southern Sudan had started. The second chapter main discusses that British has established colonial rule in Southern Sudan from 1885 to 1946. The third chapter main analyses British rule in Southern Sudan to adjust then end stage from 1946 to 1955, Britain's policy of Southern Sudan had started large-scale adjustment, and this adjustment resulted in the issue of Southern Sudan.
