The Reflection Of Humanism In Hayao Miyazaki's Movies

As the only power who can compete against Disney nowdays,the Japanese cartoon director Hayao Miyazaki participated in more than thirty productions in his career live for forty years. His works formed a distinctive style for its simple form,realism in content,concern about humanism. His movies attracted millions of people in the world entering the cinemas,achieving the success which other cartoon movies never gain. Most of Hayao Miyazaki's movies concern about ecological environment,war and the growth of human. The earlier days,he focused on the relationship between nature and human being.Later,he changed to discuss the relationship between society and human as well as human themselves. His style changed from serious to easiness. But "humanism"always what he focusing on.Hayao Miyazaki's movies attracted people in the form,because they are full of fantasy,and have strict producing process .But what made him a great master is he pay attention to all human being while based on Japanese traditional culture. Because of this,cartoon became profound. In my opinion, Hayao Miyazaki's movie have many values,such as worth of watching,full of thoughts and they are examples in literature and commercial. All of above lead to a new direction for cartoon movie. Japanese cartoonist Shouzhongzhichong and director Heizeming influenced Hayao Miyazaki a lot. The form could simple,but the subject should be meaningfull. He always tell a story in a neutrally place,there is no real good man or bad man in his movies,and he never give a definite method to settle the problems in the movies,what he do is try his best to tell the story and made the audience to think by themselves.After a general study of Hayao Miyazaki's nine movies,this thesis tries to analyze the how realism influence his growth,find out his film creation ideas. This thesis also tries to see his ideas on ecological environment and Japanese religion conceptions through the presenting of humanism,study the reason why the subjects are meaning but still attracting. Presenting his perplexed and looking ahead to the prospects of his coming films. It is my hope that while we learn the thoughts in the movies and experience of Hayao Miyazaki's success ,the Chinese cartoon maker could have some enlightenment,and our own cartoon movie could have a better and faster development.
