Mass media plays an indispensable role in environmental communication activities. In recent years,in the public domain of "environment",both the communicator and the media have become increasingly diverse and diversified.Among the individuals and groups involved in environmental communication, citizen groups, environmental groups, and enterprises have also joined. At the same time, the media has become increasingly rich, from the early traditional media such as newspapers, television, and radio,to books, movies, comics, and even games.Among them, the role of animated films in film and television in environmental communication cannot be underestimated.Among the animated films about environmental communication, the most representative can be said to be the work of Japanese animation master Miyazaki. This article attempts to use Miyazaki's "natural" and "environmental" animated films as the research object. As a world-famous animation film master,Miyazaki has an unshakable position in today's film and television animation industry, and his works are extremely popular in the East and West world.Hayao Miyazaki's animated films have different themes and rich themes. There is not only the pursuit of ideals and the exploration of life, but also the awe of nature and the memory of childhood. To sum up,Hayao Miyazaki's animated films can be roughly divided into five themes: "anti-war thoughts","all beings","ecological awareness / environmentalism","girl image","love and family".Among them, the theme of "environment" has always occupied a large proportion. From "Valley of the Wind" and "City of the Sky" to "My Neighbor Totoro","Princess of the Ghosts" to "A Spirited Away" and "Goldfish on the Cliff".From the 1980 s to the present,"nature" and "environment" have always been important themes in Hayao Miyazaki's animated films. This also provides a wealth of material for the study of the status and role of animated films in environmental communication.using semiotic research methods to study Miyazaki's films about environmental themes to explore animated films Special role in environmental communication.Reveal possible connotations of Miyazaki's animated films about environmental content.Because all of these factors, including self, gender, age, family, class, race, and sexual orientation, play an important role in how audiences receive and use text and interact with it.This must be considered when studying cultural interaction,Because the audience decodes text based on their identity characteristics such as class, race, gender, age, sexual orientation.Gender, race, and class. In popular terms,“a thousand Hamlet in the eyes of a thousand people”.Due to the above factors, the symbol analysis of film and television works cannot achieve the so-called "objective explanation".I just want to discuss and explain Miyazaki's works as much as possible through the subjective perspective of the researcher, combined with relevant communication and semiotic knowledge.
