The Influence Of The Imperial Autarchy To China's Modern Science And Technology

Development of science and technology not only follows its own laws, but also heavily depends on other factors in the development of society, a certain society's political, economic, cultural factors etc. have an important impact on China's modern science and technology, thus, it is necessary to have a comprehensive consideration of these factors, and identify the main factor which leds to backward science and technology.In this paper, Under the guidance of Principle of Marxism on the relationships between the economic base and superstructure, the political superstructure and ideological superstructure, and refers to the theory of institutional economics, I used comparative method, inductive method and historical proof method to display in detail that how Imperial Autarchy influenced development of modern science and technology. And I also made a detailed analysis about proprietary state, policy of physiocracy and restriction of business, government-run science and technology, the concept of harmony between man and nature and despotism of culture in the Feudal Society, Introduced relationships between Imperial Autarchy and then, Pointed out that the ancient Chinese Imperial Autarchy impeded the advancement of science and technology by influencing particular economic structure, ideological and cultural values, as well as many external and internal factors relate to science and technology. Thus, it's the main factor that hindered modern science and technology to come to existence and dissemination.In this paper, Contrasted to the backward modern science and technology that was led by protected autarkic peasant economy, government-run industry and commerce, and suppressed civil business in the conditions of Imperial Autarchy. I discussed the need for circulation of rural land and nowadays, the deep-seated reasons that both state-owned enterprises and private enterprises do not have a strong innovation capability. And I also showed my reflections on the current college entrance examination system as well as"official position"of research field, Combined with imperial examination system and the"official position".To solve"Needham Puzzle"from the perspective of Imperial Autarchy will not only help us correctly understand the reason that leds to backward modern science and technology, but also can be used to understand the lackness for innovation capability of enterprise and the current status of China's science and technology development.
