This paper focuses on Dong Zhongshu's theory of restriction of imperial powers and its moral types. Reflecting the actual study on Dong Zhongshu's ideas in academic field, I think that Dong Zhongshu's theory of inter-restriction of imperial powers is the necessary part of his whole politics and Ethics as well as his theory of respecting monarch, which is the reconstruction of the imperial power ordering system under the destructing situation of 'limited imperial powers' of former Han dynasty. On the basis of identifying the established monarch, Dong Zhongshu endeavored to make the emperor run their own political powers by inhibiting and restricting imperial power so as to avoiding autarchy and tyranny. To unify "virtue" and "law" was very vivid for the characteristic of Dong Zhongshu's theory of restriction of imperial powers.This paper can be divided into three parts:Part I: Based on the main clue of the forming and changing of 'limited imperial powers' , we discuss the political background of the forming of Dong Zhongshu's theory of restriction of imperial powers during the inter-relationship of society and thought.Part II: We discuss the metaphysica and human nature base of construction Dong's theory of restriction of imperial powers, and analyze the trend of conciliating Mengzi's and xunzi's thought in man-nature relationship and treatise of human nature.Part III: Embaying the key topics "disaster-heterodoxy"and "strypped-down", we try to hackle the concrete contents and details of Dong...
