There are four phenomenons in the novel: firstly, the attitude to death mentioned by Yan Lianke is similar to what existentialism has promoted, that is, to face the death directly. In this way, they think, people can acquire life's dignity. Secondly, Yan Lianke's article are full of fantastical exist, presenting an extreme fantastical living environment and condition. Facing that kind of fantastic, Yan Lianke tolerated and understood every choice that peole had made. This attitude is in coherence with sate's respecting making choices freely and having passion with everything that related to people. Thirdly, the disasters written by Yan Lianke can be considered as existentialism, which is a supplement of history, a possible imagination of exist. Fourthly, in the nihilistic destine, characters in Yan Lianke's novel took a sisyphus resistant attitude, embodying a heroic tragedy. The second part explores the reason why Yan Lianke's novel had developed such a unique existentialism character. I explain it in three aspects: the permanent human nature character, the existentialism' s influence to the writer, and the writer's own experience.In the end, I summarize the character of Yan Lianke's "palou series" novel existentialism and have a deep thinking about Yan Lianke's limitations.
