| The traditional viewpoint deem that persons with high self-esteem has better adaptability than the ones with low self-esteem.It was thought that low self-esteem easily lead to attack, and high self-esteem was less likely to attack. But a growing number of studies show that this dichotomy is too simple and cannot explain a lot of high self-esteem also has a high attack..This study was a questionnaire survey of college students about the distinction between self-esteem stability and unstability, focusing on the study of the relationship of stability of self-esteem and the attack.Three questionnaires is used in this study, that is the self-Esteem Scale(Rosernberg,1965),Adolescent Aggressiveness Questionnaire(AAQ) and Contingent Self-esteem Scale. All the scales were tested reliability and validity, and they have good reliability and validity. The structure of the values as well as various factors which influencing the dimension were examined mailnly by statistical methods of variance analysis, correlation analysis.Major findings are as follows:Self-esteem and contingent self-esteem co-predict attack. The higher the self-esteem,the weaker the attack.Stability and self-esteem was positively correlated attacks.Contingent self-esteem was positively correlated to attack, that is,unstable low self-esteem has the highest attack and stable high self-esteem has the lowest attack. |
