The Research On Guo Moruo's "Self-narration Novels"

The kind of "self-narration novels" is a literary phenomenon and narrating style, which was prevailing during the Wu Si Movement and 1920s.From then on,its uniqueness has becoming a great concern in the academic literary circle.But we do not pay more attention to the "self-narration novels" of Guo Mo Ruo's.Studying on the past achievements on this subject,we found that there remains problems awaiting solving:on the one hand,we attach more importance to the angle of the individuality who was a poet rather than find out the comparative and systematic analysis of the group writers in this field;on the other hand,we only find out Guo Mo Ruo's novels are randomly classified into the stream of subjective lyricism and self expression dominated by romanticism and individualism,rather than find out the practical and penetrating analysis of Guo Mo Ruo's "self-narration novels".With the consideration of the spirituals features in the era,this paper focuses on the analysis of the" self-narration of novels" Guo Mo Ruo's during the 1920s,especially the analysis of his subjects,of his selections of narrative style.Apart from introduction and conclusion,This paper consists of the mains from Chapter 2 and Chapter 4.Chapter 2,entitled "the formation of self-narration novels" and Guo Mo Ruo's "self-narration novels".As a model of fiction,"self-narration novels" can be dated from The Tang Dynasty,The aura of literature during the May 4th make "self-narration novels" riper.I provide an analysis of the characteristics of Guo Mo Ruo's original creation of autobiographic lyrical novels.My viewpoint is that the success of Guo Mo Ruo's"self-narration novels" is a reinforcement of human's soul-carving rather than portray plot.In a way,Guo Mo Ruo's"self-narration novels" likes as prose.What's more, Guo Mo Ruo's novels may be thought as a solution of psychic crisis of new youth generation.The style of portraying self what go down history.Chapter 3,entiled "portraying self":self of problems and novels of self narration,describes of the bewilderment misery of New youth generation,Since,under the fetters of conventional ideas and the pressure of realistic difficulties,the recovery of self consciousness brings Guo Mo Ruo the feeling "no way out after waking up from dreams".It is the problem of self that haunt Guo Mo Ruo and that become the subject he eagerly expresses'.Therefore,Guo Mo Ruo's novels during the 1920s,describing the self problems,have developed to be"self-narration novels".Then a series of heroes and heroines can be found out in Guo Mo Ruo's"self-narration novels".Chapter 4,entiled "self narration":individual narration of self problems,illustrates the two strategies adopted in narrating self problems,which can be found out by Guo Mo Ruo who express his personal feelings and expressive effects.(1) The concentrated restrictive narration with the first person.This kind of narration features the co-existence and identity of the three main bodies of creation,narration and object, and takes on the characteristic of trinity,tells one's story by his personal tone,and creates the characters similar one.For example"Deciduous","Sheep,then sorrow","Trilogy driftnets'.(2) The concentrated restrictive narration with the third person.Behind the third persons,the prototype of "self "can be perceived which reflects personal experience and the subjective emotion in Guo Mo Ruo's"self-narration novels".The author's figure can be seen clearly.However the narratives angle of "he"is conductive to the inspection and comprehension of characters more objectively and simultaneously.It gets rid of the inequality between the narrator and reader,then, putting reader in a objective position to treat the story and figures in the novels.
