The Historical Records was the first general biography in our country.It was not only the source of ancient biography literature,but also the summit of ancient biographical literature.No matter the various writing and narrative,nor the vivid person figures and the strict realistic visions,it is the source of the descent biographies in any cases.The Biographies of Late Qing was the Finish of our ancient biographies and it had made good achievements in inheriting our excellent ancient biographies.The Biographies of Late Qing had many short single spaces in general,massive works didn't appear until the start of 20^th century.The biography studies of The Historical Records in Late Qing had flourished,it had not only specialized comments but also sporadic comments.Taking the characteristics of biographical literature as the research standards,this thesis was to find the great achievements and the long-term influences of The Historical Records in the biographical literatures and the Biographies of Late Qing inherited from The Historical Records and other excellent biographies and the emergences of new variant from the general comparisons of the characters' behavior's masculinity and femininity and the late Qing biographical studies of The Historical Records and their applications as well as the people depictions of The Historical Records and the Biographies of Late Qing and the differences of their languages.Through the comparative studies,investigating the advantages and the shortages of our ancient biographical literatures,the author hope to give beneficial suggesting to the contemporary biographical literatures.The Introduction mainly elaborates the topics' significance,value and objective,and defines the study objects,establishing the reasonable scope for the study of The Historical Records and The Biographies of Late Qing.Chapter One briefly analyses the biographical study of The Historical Records in Late Qing and the expressions in the biographical compositions applied these studies from the article art, narrative and momentum.Chapter Two is departed the characters of The Historical Records and The Biographies of Late Qing into two categories of masculinity and femininity by figures' behaviors,separately elaborating these two kinds of figures' behavior features and the aesthetic feelings which affect people.Chapter Three mainly analyses people descriptions of The Historical Records and The Biographies of Late Qing,separately comparing their advantages and disadvantages from their anecdote descriptions and detailed descriptions in order to reveal their reasons.Chapter Four mainly analyses the language differences of The Historical Records and The Biographies of Late Qing,separately disserting the oral absorption at that time,language generalization and description and the function that the rise of vernacular made classical biographies extinct.
