Wise People Love Water

Water is not included in the four treasures in the study,but as one of the most important tools for traditional Chinese painting,water has its unique characters which can not be taken place by other materials,should be developed to some new areas as much as possible.This article is to show both the application and history of water in Chinese wash painting by analyzing the ignorance of all the past painting theories as well as the significance of water in traditional Chinese painting.Water here is no longer a common painting tool,but an artistic expression for water.This article is to show the fuction of water by summing up wash paintings from both ancient and modern painters.The article is to sum up the expressions of water in modern wash paintings according to the author's own painting experience.The article begins from the nature of water,namely,soft but expressive and comprehensive,all things come from water but pure and clean to vision language,and as a result,highlights the spiritual realm to search for traditional Chinese culture hiden in the painting.Thus,while using "water",we should combine the understanding of its technique and the meaning of traditional art,to remove the stereotype,to treat "water" in wash painting with a suggestive manner,and to perfect the depth and width of expresstion with water.This article is to study the unique cultural meaning of water hiden in the context and artisitc conception of painting combined with Chinese traditional culture by analyzing and reading the paintings,to broaden the use of water,to apply to the modern wash painting.The patinter should pay more attention to the significance of water in wash painting,and at the same time, to construct the beauty of water in the heart.
