Occupational gender segregation is the major reason that causes gender discrimination in the workplace. At present, occupational gender segregation appears in many places. Although the social culture, customs, traditions and other factors play an important role, in the view of psychology and behavior, the cognition of the recruiters and job hunters for the relationship between gender and careers play an important role, too. The current researches mainly focus on applicants, but rarely analyze from the perspective of the recruiters. Therefore, it is important to implore the effects of gender on decision-making and management behavior in the context of occupation.In the study one, subjects were asked to evaluate 20 careers, analyzing the occupational gender segregation.Results are as follows: 20 careers can be devided to two types by cluster analysis, one can be described as masculine occupation, because people think these are more suitable for men, and another can be described as the feminine occupation, because these are more suitable for women. People have the strong awareness of occupational gender segregation, and there is no significant difference on gender.In the study two, high score's feature and low score's feature of 16 factors were evaluated to analyze the gender expectancy of personality. Results are as follows: subjects have different expectancy for men and women. Women get low scores on the following factors: gregariousness, intelligence, excitation, permanence, sensitiveness, fantasticalness, sophistication, anxiousness, self-discipline and nervousness. And men have high scores on the following factors: audacity, testability and independence .In the study three, four stories that are typical situations in occupation were designed (recruitment, training, promotion and dismissal)to build four models of gender preference.In the context of recruitment, testability, occupational type, appearance, age of candidates with the interaction of the awareness of occupational gender segregation will influence gender preference.In the context of training, excitation, sensitiveness, anxiousness, professional type with the interaction of the awareness of occupational gender segregation will influence gender preference.In the context of promotion, the following factors will affect gender preference : sensitiveness, fantasticalness, occupational type, age of competitors, the gender with the interaction of the age of competitors, the age of competitors with the interaction of the awareness of occupational gender segregation.In the context of dismissal, the following factors will affect gender preference : age of competitors, the age of competitors with the interaction of the occupational type, the occupational type with the interaction of the awareness of occupational gender segregation, the occupational type with the interaction of age of competitors, the occupational type with the interaction of the appearance.
