Wei Wei, was known as the "alien in the alien" when she made her literary debut in mid-nineties of the 20th century. Utilizing the method of sociology and deconstruction, this dissertation tries to interpret her works and explore her complexity of writing from body, daily life and narrative ethics under the context of changing Chinese tradition. Her narrative of body reflects modern predicament of aesthetics vs ethics, gender discourse and body discipline. By challenging the narrative nostalgia, she deconstructs the romantic poetry and the fact that the regionalism absorbing, replacing and recycling the changes, deviating them from the mainstream discourse, becomes the generous moral law in daily life, reflecting abnormality of our times. Because of her emphasis on emotional realism under the control of ethics, the writer seriously utilizes the right of writing through the unity of living ethics and narrative ethics, depicting the paradoxical association between the individual and the modern tradition especially the writing tradition.
