It was in 1870s and 1980s when humanitarianism becomes the mainstream cultural trend in the name of"reform and open-up"that Zhang Jie makes her debut in china's literacy circles. She expresses her fine appeals for human dignity and the liberation of individuality, at the same time she cares about woman liberation and their social status from a tentative woman perspective as a woman writer. But her narrative tries for woman liberation are confined within a grand national narration and also restricted by Chinese traditional culture. So her experiments of seeking the feminine liberation are constrained in a limited way.The elements concerning idealism and feminine liberation are wildly checked by scholars in their criticism works, but they just criticize Zhang Jie's works in a stereotyped way while presenting the ethical impression they got when reading Zhang Jie's works, ignoring the fictionality of her works and failing to tackle the core issues in her novels. That is, Zhang Jie's narrative discourse, narrative strategy and their relationship with social backgrounds are rarely explored. This thesis tries to explore the paradox inside her ethics ideals and her narrative ethics, and then to expose the dilemmas of the narrative ethics in Zhang Jie's works in a narrative ethics criticism perspective.Introduction gives a summary of Zhang's narrative ethics dilemmas which are caused by her limitation of creating and the epoch contexts, based on the clarifying of the concepts of narrative ethics and narrative ethics criticism by exploring Zhang's selected works.Chapter I displays her narrative ethical dilemmas. Zhang Jie has always been putting the protagonists in her works into a grand historical background to reflect the political ideology. She uses the intellectuals and the reform elites as carriers of ideological discourses and grand national narrative. Because of that, Zhang Jie is lack of contemplations over the complexity of individual fates in her works. She fails to go out of the dilemmas which are full of social rational ethics rules during her creating. In Chapter II the thesis analyses the Male constraints that Zhang Jie's feminisms ideas encountered in the following aspects: the unique female and virginity concept and the longing for men which are evident in Zhang's literature texts.Chapter 3: the feminist perspective in the analysis of Zhang Jie, with modern women independent consciousness of women as reference for women's liberation, the men were constituted obstacles and dissimilation, patriarchal culture, with modern women independent consciousness of women for the ideal of female outside censures him. Zhang Jie, or through the alien "he" or ManHuaHua group of broad-brush outline, make its position in the background, For though they are or specific comprehensive description of the strong, but even the arbitrary value criticizing deprived them of power in the novels, make them "present", the absence of melt with her pursuit of freedom and equality build the modern ethical appeal form the paradox.
