The words themselves, the way he delivers them or the historical change he represents? Undoubtedly his powerful words and perfect speech techniques help a lot for his success besides his other talents. Obama's outstanding communication abilities enable him to gain support from one of the most diverse coalitions in American history. His excellent capability to launch and lead a formidable organization exhibits his leadership and managerial skills of the highest order.Public speaking is an important means of displaying one's wisdom, eloquence and personal charm, especially for a leader of whatever governments and large organizations. Therefore deep exploration and insights into Obama's wonderful addresses will be of great benefit not only to our English learning but also to our acquisition of practical public speaking skills.In this thesis we perform a comprehensive stylistic analysis of Obama's three famous addresses to explore how he blends the best of rhetoric, substance and delivery to produce outstanding oration, which has helped him to become one of the most outstanding orators in American history and finally win the 2008 Presidential Campaign.
