After films came into being, they had a close relationship with literature. The benign interrelationship between films and literature has become a real fact. The embodiment of this interrelationship is-literary works are adapted into films. Adaptation has become an important phenomenon; moreover, it shows as a strategy of the cultural industry. The adapted movies present some new characters: they pay more attention to the selection of the theme which the literary resources involve; Further, they emphasize the function of the cinema upon the adaptations and strengthen the impulse of vision; they favorite to narrative the plots of the stories, while they add the elements of the play. The new changes of the adaptation play an important role of opening the market for the movies and satisfying the audiences' consumption. Adaptation is inseparable from creation; therefore, it is doomed to create a new epic. This article is around the adaptation of Farewell My Concubine and The Legend of 1900, from transforming or being true to the cores of the originals and finishing interpretation from literary language to image, by analyzing and comparing the adapted films and the original works to make a thorough inquiry in the feature of the adaptation. I have drawn such conclusions through multiple interpretations and creative reconstruction, the focal point of the adaptation is how to deal with the cores and techniques of expression of the originals and how to use visual effects to develop the originals, and the most important thing is to use the methods of adaptation according to the intentions of the film-makers who show off their unique image styles in their unique film language basing on insisting on the respective artistic characteristics of the originals and films.
