Talking About The Characteristics And Heritage Of Tujia Tapestry Technique

The Xiangxi Tujia,like other peoples of China,have created their own rich cultural and artistic characteristics.The Xiangxi Tujia in the Miao Autonomous Prefecture is located in the western part of Hunan Province.The Xiangxi region of Hunan province has one of the highest density populations of Tujia minority nationality in China.This is due to the special geographic environment and the unique process of social development so that the Tujia cultural tapestry technique promotion has become the Interpretation of the symbol of Tujia cultural background.However,with rapidly advancing science and technology,western Hunan has experiences tremendous economic growth and opening-up. Tapestry production techniques were inevitably impacted by modern culture and faced many problems,such as;the constant loss of tapestry artists,lack of apprentices and skilled older practitioners,among many other issues.Therefore,rescue and protection of the Xiangxi Tujia brocade process is an urgent task and of great significance.In November 2005,Xiangxi Tujia brocade had been listed as the first "State-level intangible cultural heritage protection of the minority list".The Government is paying great attention to protecting the Tujia traditional arts and crafts,especially Tujia cultural tapestry.It is investing time and effort to research the cultural tapestry of Tujia so as to find ways to deal with the crisis.How to inherit,transmit and promote the Tujia cultural tapestry has become an important subject which it is eager to resolve.This article started from the Xiangxi Tujia brocade's traditional art form and surface characteristics,combined with the content of folklore, sociology and aesthetics.It is an analysis of the spirit of the characteristics,modern values,heritage and development of modern arts and crafts of Xiangxi Tujia cultural tapestry.To find ways to protect and study the Xiangxi Tujia brocade in areas such as modern clothing,home textiles,interior design and other fields is the aim of this thesis. Introduction explores some problems existing in the development of Xiangxi Tujia tapestry and puts forward the objectives,content and methods of the thesis research.Chapter 1 analyses the process and the surface characteristic of the Xiangxi Tujia cultural tapestry.Chapter 2 focuses on how to reveal the hidden facets of the cultural spirit of Xiangxi Tujia tapestry which leads to the Tujia and cultural tapestry of colors,patterns and unique characteristics.It uses modern science in the field of cultural studies to show the value of the social and historical value,the value of Ethnology,the value of science and technology and the development and utilization of heritage value.Chapter 3 explores the Xiangxi Tujia and cultural tapestry in the spirit of the characteristics of modern arts and crafts now in use - especially in modern clothing - in the level of representation and the application of spiritual characteristics.Chapter 4 points out that the Xiangxi Tujia tapestry of cultural resources protected.They give their own opinion about Tujia tapestry cultural protection.The final conclusion of this article's content and conclusions of the study are summarized.
