As the subject of the translation, translator is vital to the EST translation and, successful EST translated works should not be without the display of translator's subjectivity. However, they haven't received the attention they deserve and have been paid little attention. This thesis probes into the translator's subjectivity in written E-C EST translation, classifying the EST, analyzes its characteristics and new trend, classifies the existing criteria for perfection, and reviews the process of translator's rise in status. The thesis makes research on EST translation from the perspective of translator's subjectivity, and main jobs are:Firstly, the thesis takes Habermas's Theory of Communicative Action as the theoretical basis to get into the connotation of translator's subjectivity and defines translator's subjectivity, highlighting the display of translator's subjectivity is for the purpose of reaching equal communication and mutual understanding between translator and other subjects.Secondly, the thesis makes comparison of EST translation and literary translation and pointing out that translator's subjectivity in the process of literary translating is mainly manifested in the phase of understanding ST and the phase of language transformation. The literariness is uppermost in literature translation, while scientificalness is placed prime emphasis in EST translation.Thirdly, the thesis points out that the translator's subjectivity in the process of EST is displayed in the phase of language transformation and meanwhile it is under the restrictions of many factors.Fourthly, the thesis addresses the relationship between scientificalness and translator's subjectivity in E-C EST translation. On one hand, scientificalness has restriction and limitation on translator's subjectivity; on the other hand, the translator can display it's subjectivity in close connection with scientificalness.
