| In step with the fast social development,more and more urbanites have come to their serious realization that they are badly in need of such pleasant ease and relaxation like returning to nature within their limited individual space as they are already tired of being crowded in the reinforced concrete building blocks typical of the urban construction.This market demand is on the rise with the quickened urbanization process,the unceasing decrease of the urban green space and the increase of noise and dust.In answer to this urgent need,the folk residence buildings in southern Anhui emphasizing the unity of man and nature just happen to be in a right place to demonstrate their enlightening role.These living in the seemingly obsolete and backward folk dwellings are not as well-off as urban people, but they enjoy their fun in their happy harmony with their surroundings.To a great extent,this attributes to the unique design notion of folk dwelling places of southern Anhui,where they can obtain a thorough relaxation after a long day of toil. We may get some enlightenment from their design for our modern crowded urban construction space and the interior design.The deliberate purpose of the present paper is to comprehend and learn from the bright shining culture in history,make the past serve the present and enrich our present life and artistic creation.It can enable us to rationally and creatively arrange and rearrange the spatial correlation of our buildings.It can also spur our speculation over problems of the similar issues for a corresponding satisfactory solution.The past successful experience may well foretell the path orientation in close relation to our future life.If there is anything undesirable with southern Anhui folk dwelling places,it was merely historical memory.Its unquestionable glorious achievements shine over the past, present and,more importantly,the future.It offers us an endless source of inspiration,without any exceptions,especially modern art designers. |
