Children's emotional display rules(EDRs) cognition,which acquired from the process of socialization,is one of important content involving the socialization of children's emotion,and is used to guide the emotion display to society expectation in a particular social situation.So,to investigate EDRs cognition is very helpful to improve the situation of emotion development,promote the emotion health,and enhance the adaptive capacity of society.EDRs cognition mainly includes three aspects:emotion regulation knowledge, emotion regulation goals and emotion regulation strategies,emotion regulation knowledge reflects discrepancy between internal feeling and external emotion expression in the communication of children;emotion regulation goals is used to evaluate the development trends of goal orientation,it includes two types,the self protect goal and social orientation goal,and the former has a lower level;emotion regulation strategies is used to observe the developmental characteristic of different strategy used in EDRs,concretely,it includes four kinds of strategies:neutralization, masking,minimization,and maximization.In this study,190 Hui minority children,from 1st,3rd and 5th grade of primary school,aged from 6 to 10 years were selected,and the characteristic of cognitive development of EDRs was investigated by means of structure interviewing.The investigation related to age,gender,different emotion situation as well as three objects of emotion display,father,teacher and good friends,which children confronted.Conclusions:1.The levels of EDRs cognition in Hui minority children between 6 and 10 years old were developed with age increasing.The age from 8 to 10 years old was the most important period for Hui minority children to increase emotional display rules knowledge rapidly.2.Hui minority children more commonly selected social orientation goal to guide their emotion display.3.As for the using of emotion regulation strategies,neutralization and masking were commonly used in Hui minority children,while,minimization and maximization were fewer used.And especially,children were more prone to select masking in positive emotion situation.4.6-10 years old Hui minority children more commonly expressed their real emotion in positive emotion situation than in negative emotion situation.When confront with their fathers,they were prone to express their real emotion,while when confront friends,they were prone to hide that.In positive emotion situation,when confront their fathers,they were inclined to know their own activity by social orientation goal,however,when confront friends,they seldom used social orientation goal to know their own activity.
