This paper is a study of spoken English teaching for non--English major students based on the Cognitive Flexibility Theory. Cognitive Flexibility Theory is a branch of Constructivism, The American scholar R.J. Spiro raised the awareness of the Cognitive Flexibility Theory. He tries to process information from the perspective interpretation of Constructive Learning, in order to reveal the actual situation in the learning, and to use the knowledge in real situation, that is to say, to learn the knowledge flexibly. This approach assumes that students come to class with ideas, beliefs and opinions that need to be altered or modified by a teacher who facilitate this alteration by devising tasks and questions that create dilemmas for students. Knowledge construction occurs as a result of working through this dilemma.
