| The English Curriculum Standard for the compulsory education puts forward the latest requirements for the teaching objectives of oral English in primary school,and to develop student’s ability of comprehensive use.Primary school is the starting point for students to learn English.Learning oral English well in primary school can pave the way for students to learn oral English in the future.However,due to the lack of language learning environment and the restriction of teachers’ traditional ideas and teaching methods,the teaching of oral English in primary schools is not valued in the actual English teaching.It is necessary for the academic circles to study the oral English teaching in primary school,find out the problems,change the teaching methods and improve the oral English level ofpupils.This study explores the main problems of oral English teaching in primary schools by means of questionnaires.First,the teaching conditions of oral English in primary schools are poor;second,the overall English level of primary school students is worrying;third,oral English teaching lacks interest.Based on the theory of constructivism,this study put forward the principles and strategies of oral teaching design.92 students in two classes in the fourth grade of this study do a one-term teaching experiment.The experiment is divided into experimental class and control class.The purpose of this study is to verify that the flexible use of constructivism theory in primary school oral English teaching can stimulate students’ motivation and interest in learning oral English,improve students’ oral English communication ability,develop students’ ability to use language comprehensively,and improve the efficiency of primary school oral English teaching to a certain extent.Teachers can face up to the problems existing in oral English teaching in primary schools,so as to innovate,change the present situation and promote the improvement of oral English teaching quality in primary schools. |
