Located in the central coastal Fujian Province,Putian is a region with both long history and developed culture.It not only has its own dialects but also abundant folk musical arts.Besides Putian opera honoured as the live fossil of southern drama, Putian people also take great pride in Shiyin which is regarded as intangible cultural heritage of instrumental folk music.Putian-Shiyin has a strong civil foundation.It is divided into Wen-Shiyin and Wu-Shiyin by different styles and characteristics.Both the structures and shapes of its instruments are rather special.Studying on Huiyang-Shiyin which remains all features of Shiyin in Putian region, the thesis outlines the origin of Putian-Shiyin,analyzes its music noumenon, introduces its musical instruments,and explores its social function in the process of fleldwork...
