| Recent years, the behavior problem of preschool children is calling attention of the society, not only because it affects the growth of the children themselves but also their family and even the whole society.Sandplay therapy has been wildly applied in many developed countries and regions such as Europe, Unite States of America, Japan and etc.. Sand therapy requires no verbal communication. Research shows that the feature caters to children, which reflects their unconsciousness through the vivid miniatures and helps children to release the negative emotion and strengthen the ego power. But it usually takes more than 1 year and even longer for one child to have a sandplay therapy. Nevertheless, the number of sandplay therapists and tools is far from fulfilling the requirement for so many children who have behavior problem.Therefore, by means of the methodology of case treatment, questionnaire and individual interview, this study use choose preschool children (ranged from 4 to 5 years old) who have behavior problem as participant and try to explorer the effect of short-term Sandplay therapy. During the past 2 months, I treated 7 children with some behavioral problems for 6 times separately, with duration of about 30-60 minutes per time.After the treatment, the 8 children got significant improvement in Conners rating scale compared with those children in control group. Such fators as hyperactivity (P=0.013) and ADHD index (P=0.016) show difference between the fraction before and after the treatment.The themes of sandplay changed extremely from "wounding" to "healing". The themes of wounding are tailing away(p=0.001), meanwhile, the themes of healing are clearer(p=0.032).Furthermore, the contrast of the teacher evaluation shows that the cases transfer the progress in the playroom to daily life successfully.The study indicated that the short-term sandplay therapy has positive effect on the behavior problem of preschool children. |
