Shanghai style literature is a kind of urban literature which has been born in the culture context of modern Shanghai consumption. Its literary characteristics and writing ways were obviously affected by the consumption culture of modern Shanghai. As a kind of the urban consumption culture, sociality dance plays an important role in the creation of Shanghai style Literature. It reveals the emotion and psychological condition of writers and also conveys different experiences and attitude of writers to the urban space, the urban life and the urban characters. This paper selects representative Shanghai style writers as researching object and put emphasis on the creation of the New Sensation School writer, Anyi Wang and Naishan Chen, the post-70s such as WeiHui and Mianmian. It studies how their novels paint a three-dimensional and multi-faceted urban landscape of Vanity Fair from various aspects.This paper includes there parts. The first part, from Introduction to Chapter I, clarify the definition of Shanghai style literature, defining the range of new and old Shanghai style literatures; clarify the developing courses of the ballroom and sociality dance in Shanghai. Furthermore, give an outline the vivid scene of dancing scene written by writers of Shanghai style and analyze its reasons: besides the individual experience of authors, the emergence of such cases is also relating to the social environment. Literature is a result of certain cultural context and a carrier of a particular culture. Literature is affected by the culture of consumerism, at the same time, it acted unaffectedly to the lifestyles and values which are formed in the context. Therefore, the urban description in literature conform to the way of urban life advocated by the culture of consumerism, consciously or non-consciously.The second part, from chapter II to IV, expound in three dimensions: sociality space, plot construction and urban character image, analysis of the different status of sociality dance narrative in different periods of Shanghai style writing. To point of space view, the decadent and lonely, elegant and illusory, stimulating and intemperate urban sociality space, is not only a background and stage for characters but also an indispensable protagonist in their versions. The sociality site corresponding to urban characteristics which these writers' try to unfolds. It is an "urban" of the city. To point of plot construction view, the sociality dance was regarded as a way of desire narrative , a carrier of nostalgia and an extension of body narrative in order to show the city life; when portraying characters image, they model images of new gentleman and modern woman, rational dancer and extraordinary "Party animal". These images are different but the relations between sexes are similar in these articles. The ambiguous body language of sociality dance is intertwined with alienation of gender relationship of the urban life.The third part, Conclusion, sociality dance is a thumbnail of the whole foppish city. Shanghai style writers unfolds a three-dimensional and foppish modern world with sociality dance, bar, dance hall, extravagant life, and Western Miscellaneous. Because of this foppish feature, Shanghai literature can present itself in the literary world with completely new and separate visage, glittering its unique light and color.
