Lefebvre's theory of space production is a concept of criticizing the capitalist world from the perspective of Marxism.Different from Lefebvre's concept of space production,Edward Yang begins with a sharp criticism of the real society,from the perspective of a unique artist,describes and represents the social-representing and social-creating space generated from the film space.This thesis starts from physical space of city and psychological space of characters,goes deep into space-construction analysis in Edward Yang's film,examining political and psychological characteristics in Edward Yang's film,as well as studying the reasons,methods and results for the production of urban physical space and psychological space.
