The Israelite Construction Of The Ethnic Identity In The Hebrew Bible

The Hebrew Bible can also be regarded as their own narrative text of "the ethnic identity" by Israelite themselves. The Jews are in the low position of the ethnic stratification for thousands years, actually they have not denied their own cultural tradition, or given up their own ethnic identity, what' s more, they could maintain their ethnic identity as usual even in the Diaspora, because their ethnic identity was constructed well in the Hebrew Bible.I will analyze "ethnic group" and "the ethnic identity", using the material in the Hebrew Bible, the related academic material and archaeology material. Beginning from the relationship of the Israelite and the Canaanite in the Hebrew Bible, I will analyze and observe how the Israelite utilizes the Hebrew Bible to construct the ethnic identity.
