A Research Into Multimedia Assisted Senior English Teaching Of Reading

We have entered a new highly developed information age.Science and technology are developing very rapidly.As we all know,all kinds of new tools are being used widely in every field,especially computer.It is a big trend that computer multimedia is applied to English reading teaching in senior high school.But teachers have no idea how to make senior English reading teaching much more efficient with the help of multimedia.Therefore, a research into multimedia assisted senior English teaching of reading is very significant.Besides,applying computer multimedia to a lesson of reading teaching in Senior high school is developing slowly.So it will be necessary to make a research into multimedia assisted senior English teaching of reading. If we use multimedia properly in a lesson,there are the following advantages:①Use of multimedia can activate and maintain students' interests;②Use of multimedia can arouse students' attention;③Use of multimedia can enrich students' knowledge of cultural background and create favorable English communicative surrounding where students can acquire English language easily;④Use of multimedia can enlarge the contents of an English reading lesson;⑤Use of multimedia can help to resume students' confidence and improve their study initiative and active nature.There are five parts in the thesis.The first part is an introduction.In the second part author introduces theoretical background of using multimedia and the definition of CALL and Multimedia and components.The third part is about research design,where the author elaborates on procedures and uses two courseware examples to compare two teaching methods.The fourth part is about results and analysis.In the fifth part,the author makes a list of some misconception in the use of multimedia in the senior English reading teaching and gives some tips about how to make an English reading courseware.
