| Aesthetic concept owns a specialty in China. And it originates from the field of literature, it's gradually applied in the different aspects on art, and it is one of the unlackable fact for art. It can indicate the deep aesthetic meaning for an artistic work, also a standard for its evaluation. Artistic mood is the loftiest aesthetic principle in the traditional Chinese landscape painting. It is regarded as the soul of landscape painting. It was fully caught and used when oil painting was introduced into China. It is naturally blended and mixed with Chinese special cultural spirit, and put a eparat meaning in the traditional painting in the west.Both of them depict the natural landscape in Chinese landscape painting and western oil landscape painting, it formed a quite different aesthetic interest and artistic effect own to the special comprehending notion ,its materials and conveying ways. Chinese oil painter eparately pursue the special Chinese spirit since it was introduced into China. Many of them have being created the artistic mood in their work. The paper makes an analysis and research on the understanding of artistic mood, the special mood in Chinese landscape painting and the special language in oil painting itself, and aims to rich the deep meaning in artistic mood for oil landscape painting and extend the new formula in it.The paper consists of three parts. First, it mainly talks about the concept, origin, constructual factors and connotation on artistic mood. Second, it eparately indicates Chinese landscape painting and western oil landscape painting, and makes a contract on the convey of artistic mood in two different painting systems. Third, it makes an introduction in artistic mood in the painters' oil painting for different ages. And explore an expressing approach for it through analysis on the masterpiece to catch the artistic mood in my own works.
