The Chinese painter Nizan was one of the "Four Great Masters" of the Yuan dynasty. The greatest achievements in art which Nizan has achieved was his landscape painting. However, there are no thesis and books studied on his Landscape painting systematically. It could be summarized to a style which is "one river and two banks" in his works. This paper was mainly aimed at studying artistic styles in Nizan's landscape painting. By the study on the social environment at the time and the artist's life, together with the stylistic creativity in his preserved works, the writer has reached a conclusion that artistic styles in Nizan's landscape painting was a style of "broad landscape painting". This unique style that surpassed not only the ancestors but also the contemporaries in composition and mood. Nizan developed a school of his own in Yuan Dynasty. This style of the artist was very clear and characteristic. He contributed a lot to the Chinese painting. |
