The Study On Li Yu's Novel Theory Of Silent Drama

Li Yu , who was born in late Ming Dynasty,was a popular literary writer in early Qing Dynasty. As a scholar, he gave up his career and chose "selling articles for living ".All of his novels, drama creations reflected a relative strong character of business, which in turn influenced his theoretical summary of popular literature. This thesis is based on previous study results, attempting to make an effort to have a further exploration on Li Yu's "silent drama" in perspective of popular literature, in order that readers can have a better knowledge of this theory and its influence.This thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is introduction, recalling the history and present situation of "silent drama" novel theory research, describing its purpose and significance.The second part, analyze the social background of external factors that formed Li Yu's "silent drama" novel theory, explores the external factors how "silent drama" novel theory was formed, in perspective of political and economical conditions of novel creation, philosophical and cultural thoughts, Li Yu's unique way of managing his life, its impact on literary creation.The third part, trace back to the origins and meaning of "silent drama", it explores the origins of "silent drama" theory from the aspect of literary internal development, defines the specific content of "silent opera" theory; From the angle of the history development of drama and fiction, it restores the formation of his spiritual features and theoretical origins of "silent drama" theory; it also investigated the mutual fusion and mutual penetration between novel and drama during Ming and Qing Dynasty in detail; it inspects the impact of Li Yu's drama theory and practice of novel writing; it elaborates the connotation of the "silent drama" novel theory.The forth part is the practice of Li Yu's "silent drama" novel theory in short stories in the vernacular novel. Based on clear"silent drama" theoretical connotation, it investigates this theory's creative features in Li Yu's vernacular short stories from these aspects: entertainment intent, narrative structure, the characterized role set, the language style of the novel and so on .The fifth part is mainly from the history development point of view to study the novel theoretical criticism. It studies the situation of inhabitation and development in value function of the novel, fiction theory, pursuit of the unusual circumstances in Li Yu's "silent drama" theory.
