Victorian era is the United Kingdom's "golden period" of capitalist development. The development of the industrial revolution had brought unprecedented economic development and social change to the United Kingdom of the period , In this transition period of the British the employment situation and lives of middle-class women had shown new features. In the early years of the Victorian age ,the develelopment of the industrial reveolution produced that the places of production and living space separated ,the traditional concept of"woman's place is at home"is strengthened , being a symbol of family,the middle-class women gradually withdrew from the traditional areas of production, they were not allowed to go to work more. Even some middle-class women went out to work, for their career field was very narrow, only working as governesses and tailor career.In the middle of the Victorian age, the United Kingdom's economic prosperity created the conditions for middle-class women to enter career field.Those who have been educated, eager to achieve self-development were increasingly dissatisfied with the narrow monotonous family life, they broke through the barriers of their families, and promoted the development of the charity campaign, and opened up new careers, professional female teachers and nurses came out at this time.In the later of Victorian era, with the second-depth development of scientific and technological revolution, and the tertiary industry and the burgeoning women's movement to promote the growing community of human life and women's education level,and brought new employment opportunities. Apart from middle-class women entered the traditional teaching and nursing professions, also entered the original male monopoly medical, pharmaceutical, library management, offices, shops and other occupational areas. They got rid of their dependency status, and became self-esteem, self-dependence, self-reliance of new women, became an important and indispensable part of British economic development, their status can be improved. Middle-class professional women as advocates for the women's movement and the main force,also promoted the development of the women's movement and laid the foundation for the emancipation of women.This article is guided by historical materialism,inspecting and analysising of the Victorian Middle_class women's professional evolution,detailing the baisic conditions and characteristics of their employment,trying to explore the relations between the evolution of the Middle_class women's employment and the changes of the economy ,the politic and the culture of the period.Social,political,economic and cultural changes fundamentally affect and constrain the situation of women's employment and living,but they were not passively subject to the consequences of social change,and their pursuing the employment and endevour in turn had a significant impact on social development.
