He inherited the tradition of violin-making from Classical Cremona, but not stuck to the old ways. His violins represent his individual making style. They have bold outlines, advocating personality, and fascination. In the production of tone, he had successfully combined the characters of Brescia School and Cremona School, which made the tone of his violins loud and sonorous, meanwhile, nice and sweet. And also, the tone of his violins brought him great fame in the 19th century, Europe.Because of his special making style and his twist-turning life, the first three things we should know before the research of his violin-making methods and style are the background of the contemporary society, the origin of violin-making,and the inheritance relationship.
