This is a translation project report on the first two chapters of Working Hard&Working Well written by Dr. David E.K. Hunter. This book represents what he haslearned over the course of some three decades of leading, managing, and consultingto organizations and programs in both the public and nonprofit sectors, where heworked to build organizational competencies and capacity to improve the lives andprospects of marginalized, weakened, or otherwise disempowered individuals,families, groups, communities, and populations. It will be a practical guide formonitoring today’s social and economic management activities. Thus the translationproject is of great necessity and high value. The report is divided into four parts. Thefirst part is the introduction of the translation project report, consisting of thebackground of the project, objectives and significance of the project, as well as thelayout of the report. The second part is about the source text, mainly including anintroduction to the author and the book, the general information and contents of thesource text. The third part deals with the difficulties and methodologies employed intranslation, where examples are analyzed to illustrate the translation methods, such asreorganization of word order, conversion and division. The fourth part is theconclusion, which sums up the experience and lessons drawn from the project.
