Chen kui was not only an official of national library, a bibliography specialist, but also a rhetoric expert. He has done a great of contributions to the development of rhetoric theories in China. He was the hair to ancient sages and the teacher of posterity. He drew lessons form senior person's methods and experiences on rhetoric theories, also made reading notes and induced the feelings of analysis in his life, and at last he systematized rhetoric theories and wrote Wen ze. Wen ze is Chen's integration on his rhetoric theories, involving many important points of rhetoric theories. It had done great and important contributions to Chinese rhetoric history. And it also had great influence to the later scholars. The text tried to scoop out the rhetoric theories of Wen ze systematically, and explained Chen's special contribution on constructing rhetoric theories.The thesis divides into seven parts: the first and the second part are documents about biographical sketch Chen's brief, his writings and motivation. Because of the limited documents, it will be influenced to introduce this part more or less. Generally speaking, people only knew his writings partly, Wen ze, Nan song guan ge lu ,Zhong xing guan ge lu ,but few people were familiar to Gu xue gou xuan,Zheng jian lu, especially Gu xue gou xuan , with close relation to wenze. It is the statement research form the third to the sixth part, which mainly explain inactive rhetoric theories, positive rhetoric theories, grammar and chapter rhetoric theories ,and literary style theories. It is the body part of the text. The conclusion explains the position of Chen's Wen ze in Chinese rhetoric history and its influence to descendants.
