As the representative of modern western philosophy Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche and as the master of European romantic music Richard Wagner, although there were certain age gap, but they had experienced the modernization of Europe together, they all had persistently pursue the real of music art. When we study the art philosophy and aesthetics, they provide us extremely valuable materials, their thought reflected our time and our history. Nietzsche and Wagner, they all appreciated Schopenhauer's concepts of the world, Nietzsche once public comment: The position of his philosophy and aesthetics reached a unanimous decision with Wagner, but in 1878, Nietzsche thought the fact that he had broken with Wagner , it was a fate. I thought this ideological contradictory has reflected the music aesthetics of Nietzsche. Therefore, this paper discussed Nietzsche's music aesthetics to be based on his works, such as: Unzeitgem(a|¨)βe Betrachtungen; Der Fall Wagner; Nietzsche contra Wagner, and deeply excavating the meaning of the music aesthetics of Nietzsche, and finally to provide an objective, critical, historical comment.The paper consists of four parts (Introduction and three chapters): the Introduction introduced the reason of choosing this topic, the research literatures, the research methods, and the results by finally completed. Chapter one explored the life and growth of Nietzsche's through his external relations, his ideological system, his personal growth, his academic achievements and influence, and then revealing the essence of Nietzsche's philosophy to prove that why the history had chosen Nietzsche. Chapter two took Nietzsche's music aesthetics and Wagner's artistic ideas as the research object, to analyze the fusion and fission between Nietzsche and Wagner. This research would show the formation and development of Nietzsche's music aesthetics and to make known the social and art problems of 19th century. The last chapter illustrated the value and significance of Nietzsche's music aesthetics on our current, and explained why the research was very important.This paper has made an objective and macro of the theme on basis of the guidance of Marxist Materialism, Methodology. To adhere to the scientific research contents and system integrity, the original materials, the argument rationally, the integration of theory with practice, the unity of history and logic. The paper indicates Nietzsche's pursuit of independent innovation, personality, the essence of humanity, and the ultimate concern through the study of music aesthetics of Nietzsche. Nietzsche's mode of thinking will benefit our state, our society and our people by guidance of the dialectical materialism.
