With the persistent pursuit of Art,Friedrich William Nietzsche and Richard Wagner,who had common experience of the modern revolution in Europe, had left a large numberof classic art works for reference and research as well as rich, contradictory and criticalaesthetic criticism for the future generations. Two thoughtful giants, with their specialaesthetic practice ability, plays a great role in promoting the development of the historyof aesthetics in20th Century. It also provided a indispensible theory for the subsequentstudy of research on aesthetics.Through the description of opposed Wagner event, this paper is aiming at analyzingthe two pioneers who were deeply influenced by Schopenhauer’s about their process fromthe acquaintance to the departure. It laid the foundation of Nietzsche’s inquiry on thebreakthrough of Wagner’s drama and art concept. It has further analyzed the researchedthe esthetics thought which rooted from the dissimilarity between Nietzsche and Wagnerand the positive role in promoting the history of aesthetics.Later scholars have relatively speculated and discussed on Nietzsche and Wagner’sexperience from "great encounter" to "giant discrete". This paper would do furtherexploration on the evaluation data, providing the corresponding. theoretical basis underthe influence of Schopenhauer’s thought the formation of Wagner criticism anddiscussion of Nietzsche’s aesthetics of life force, the Dionysian spirit, Superman’s willand the discussion anti-religious ideas. Nietzsche’s first aesthetics and literary question’swork "the birth of tragedy" was the basis of his aesthetics and literary theory. He believesthat the tragic essence was rooted in the two spirits of human nature--conflict andcontradiction between Dior Nisus spirit and the Apollo spirit. The whole world is closelylinked with "aesthetic phenomenon”. However "Wagner doctrine" has brought thetraditional factors of German classical aesthetics and Romanticism art thought into fullplay and combined it into a new whole. Some spiritual connotation reflected by Wagnerseemed to draw further apart from the spirit of the era. For Nietzsche, the one who wasdissatisfied with the status quo and innovative "Superman" by name Wagner disappearedforever and the replacement is the devout religious believers who he despised. In the course of the study,the friendship of short duration between claimed himselfas the tragic philosopher Nietzsche and opera master Wagner ended in tragedy wasinevitable. This article will focus on Nietzsche’s identification towards Wagner’s artisticthought with the context of Nietzsche and Wagner events. Drawing the incident as a clueto Nietzsche and Wagner’s artistic life and extracting the artistic concept and literaryaesthetics revealed in the works. Through analyzing the differences in his aestheticthoughts and then reflecting Nietzsche’s real characteristics in surpassing Wagner and thesignificance of the beyond. All of the above may draw a perfect ending of Nietzsche’saesthetics in this thesis.
