Johann Sebastian Bach was one of the greatest composers in the Baroque period. His works are priceless treasure for us. Bach created his works by using all kinds of styles during that period and borrowed many useful musical elements from Italy, England, and France. This and the polyphone composing technique form Bach's unique style.Italian Concerto, created by Bach in 1735, is a keyboard works. It is based on and surpassed the Vivaldi concerto. This concerto is full of Italian music style. It has a beautiful melody and easy to sing. At the same time, Bach used polyphone to create which makes the work full of multi-regional character. Bach became the earliest and the main composer during the formation of the international style. Italian music style also became one of the fundamental parts of the international style due to its unique character and importance.The first Chapter will introduce the origin and development of the concerto. We will also mention the character change during the development of the concerto, the establishment of the form and the meaning to nowadays research. These will give us an overall impression of the origin of Italian style. The second chapter will analyze Italian Concerto from its style, form, melody, rhythm, and ritornello structure We will explain the Italian style and polyphone character of this concerto. The third character will introduce Bach's creation and the meaning to nowadays research. Bach's works are still being used by musicians to practice and study after three hundred years. Bach becomes more and more important in music history in the world. The fourth chapter will focus on the aesthetics aspect of the Italian Concerto. We will see the international style created by Bach through the analysis of background and character of Italian music style. Finally, we will come back to nowadays. The development of modern music can not be separated from the international language. It is very meaningful to point this out.We use the musicological analysis to analyze the works itself, the overall background, and it aesthetic meaning. We deepen the understanding of Bach's Italian Concerto. At the same time, we are trying to enlighten the way to develop modern music.
