Johann Christian Bach, known as "London Bach", is one of the famous composers and performers during the mid-18th century. Christian travelled to many countries, such as Germen, Italy, France and England. The hybrid of different music styles in different countries is the most significant feature in his works. He focused on the writing of music with natural, beautiful melody, simple harmony and clear structure, and after he settled down in London, he gained his reputation as a representation of pre-classical composer.J.C.Bach contributed a large number of compositions, including opera, sonata, church music, symphony, concerto, and so on. All these works showed his talent of music writing. His keyboard concerto is one of his most important genres, and it really has some great value for historical study. He composed nearly 30 keyboard concertos, which had been published during his London years. The thesis is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, I will search on the background of Christian's life and his compositions, focusing on the development of concerto during the 18th century. In the second chapter, I am trying to analyze the concerto works of Op.1, Op.7, and Op.13. By finding the way of concerto conversations in these works,1 will discuss the musical conception of J.C.Bach and find out what he had received from other composers and what is new in his compositional process. In the last chapter, some comparisons are arranged for learning the "historical conversations" between J.C.Bach and early and contemporary composer, such as J.S.Bach, C.P.E.Bach, and Mozart. That answers the questions that how he was influenced by the others and how he influenced the followers. Finally, I will try to evaluate the meanings for J.C.Bach's keyboard concertos.
