Research On Graphic Language Of Signs System Design

Along with the development of modern technology, the pace of the world is speeding up, the communication between the city and the city is getting more frequent, the contact between people and the city is becoming more and more intimate. City needs order, life needs rhythm. Modern metropolis needs clear signs system. Signs system can be traced back to 1920s, it brought convenience and order to human life. Signs system reflects the level of civilization of a city. It provides guidance for people. It cannot be replaced. Anyone who arrived at an unfamiliar city, can feel peculiar atmosphere of the city. And the graphic symbol is the soul of signs system. Graphics can be dated back to the earliest prehistory, it is gradually getting rich and varied with human's development. And the signs system which is growing with the development of modern society can provide the graphic language a broad arena, where graphic language can show its own characteristics. Nothing in the world is the common language, but a common graphic language, Graphic has no national boundaries. Its intuition and convenience provides the most simple way for the world's communication. The emotional designers are using graphics to convey the "integration" and "communication" to all over the world. Therefore the research on graphic language of signs system is very important.This paper first elaborated on the design of signs system commencing on the graphic language of signs system, trying to perfect the cognition of signs system design to people through deep analysis. The paper involved the problem of humanization, nationality and times, to provide the significant theory system for the research on signs system.The paper discussed the principles of signs system design with the beginning of the development of signs system, then discussed the produce of graphic language, visual cognition rules and its propagation characteristics, to define the object of research and build the theory basis. Then the paper analyzed the sources of graphic language, constructed the graphic language system of signs design, which is the focal point and the achievement of the paper, finally put forward the development trend of the graphic language of signs system , to provide some references for the development of graphic language of signs system.Based on the symbol, linguistics, semiotics and cognitive psychology, design semantics, design aesthetics and communication theory etc, the paper brought these into the study comparatively and selectively. Through study of literature cites and instances proof, it discussed the graphic language of signs system in detail with analysis and induction.This topic research has directive significance to promote the development of signs system, and also has reference value to the study of graphic language. Especially the construction of graphic language system, provided the basis for the follow-up study.
