Relying on wonderful stories, colorful characters and languages, changeable painting colors and styles, Japanese cartoons are recognized and loved by audience all over the world, especially the young people. In recent years, net profit of animation industry annually in Japan could reach up to 4.5 billion dollars, accounted for more than a half of the profit of animation industry of the whole world. According to the statistics of Japanese economic trade and industry Ministry, nearly the six tenths of animation screening in the world is made by Japan. However, although having great influences in culture and much profit in economic, Japanese animation can't sidestep its themes on violence, war and Militarism. Nowadays, more and more scholars have noticed and criticized inclination of violence aesthetics and dangerous meaning of Japanese ideology behind it. The violent pictures filled in Japanese animation, provide the youth distorted world view, make them believe that violence is normal and would happen everywhere. At the same time, influenced by their own unique geographical, historical and cultural factors, some dangerous Japanese ideology also reflects in the animation.Taking advantage of Japanese economic power, by the use of mass media, Japanese animation transfers its mainstream value and ideology to its audience imperceptibly. The input and penetration of this strong culture, whose influence is more concealed and far-reaching, leads up to the loss of criticism to the audience. Even worse, it could corrupt our national culture and cause great damages.Negative ideology and even the dross in Japan inputs and penetrates by the means of animation, influencing the young audience and our national culture concealed andfar-reaching. We must keep vigilance and criticism--It is the very significance that Iwrite this paper. As far as the violence and Militarism in animation, We have to block its communication channels and banish its negative aspects. Since the youth is the main audience of Japanese animation but they are lack of discriminability, they should avoid this kind of animation. From easy to hard, exterior to interior, layer upon layer, My paper combines not only quantitative research and qualitative research but also the violence, Militarism and the cause of it. It is more scientific, rigorous and objective in methods and more specific, pertinent and overall in contents. In the first half of my paper, quantitative analysis has been applied, including strict concept defining, sampling, coding table designing, software analyzing. As a result, the data and tables could show the degree and the character of violence in Japanese animation; The relationship between variables in the coding table could interpret the nature and implications of violence in Japanese animation. This kind of method has not been used in researching Japanese animation. The latter part of my paper, semiotics, communication, intercultural communication theories have been applied. By analyzing typical violent cases, I want to show "the leading rule of male in society"and Militarism implicating in animation. And I summarize 4 causes to explain them: the geographical factor, the Shinotonist influence factor, the Bushido influence factor and the influence factor of Japanese culture represented by literature after ww ii. At last, I end my paper with keeping vigilance of cultural hegemony in Japanese animation. The latter part of my paper, semiotics, communication, intercultural communication theories have been applied.
