Zhang Hua was a famous politician and litterateur in the Western Jin Dynasty. He had a higher political status and lofty reputation in literary grace. He was the key poet in the changing of style of poetry in Wei and Jin dynasties. For a long time, people's appraisal on Zhang Hua is not high because people regard ed Zhong Rong.'points as final conclusion. Little attention was paid to Zhang Hua's Fu and proses, it's unfair for Zhang Hua .This thesis attempts to reveal a real image of Zhang Hua by making a selective research on his conduct and literal achievements, which were the most typical parts about him.The thesis includes three sections:Preface makes a simple evaluation of Zhang Hua, the research on him and also shows the intension of the paper and the method of the research.The most important part in the preface is about Zhang Hua's personal character. He was influenced by the Confucianists , Taoist school and knight-errantry. In fact, he was a typical Confucian scholar, as is important for the understand ing of Zhang Hua.The main text is divided into five parts:The first part talks about Zhang Hua'literature views and his writing circles. He advocated feeling was more important than words, implicit and succinct style and objected to the miscellaneous expression. These had had a significant impact on the creation of civilian groups.The second part gives a few points on Zhang Hua's poems. The analysis is from two aspects: querying Zhong Rong's Shi Pin, the key role in The evolution of poetry style .The third part is Zhang Hua's Fu which is an important part of the evolution of Fu's style. the Fu expressed the seclusion thoughts of Taoism to a large extent, the Fu paid attention to the magnificence, antithesis and quoting classical allusions just as his poetry. Its whole writing style tended to antithesis, displaying certain era characteristics.The fourth part is about Zhang Hua's prose. His prose was always ignored..This analyzes different styles and literariness of his prose. The first piece introduce different styles of his prose. The second part analyzes his prose at the angle of literariness.The fifth part analyzes Bo Wu Zhi's the ground-breaking significance for the creation of novel. Because there are enough attention to this book at the angle of philology, this part discusses the unique, groundbreaking technique , significance and importance.Conclusion: During the Western Jin Dynasty, Zhang Hua rectified politics, rewarded and promoted scholars, facilitated the prosperity of the poetry circles in Tai Kang Period. He opened the habits and ways of pursuing magnificence of poetry, which had certain influence to the literary creation in Wei and Jin dynasties and even the Southern Dynasties. Although his poems didn't represent the highest peak of that era, his merits and contributions to advocating literature and opening style of poetry shouldn't be ignored.
