The concept of emotional work is related to the rise of the service-based economy society. It is a process in interpersonal situations that the workers take necessary psychological adjustment to express the specific needs in order to finish the task which was given by the organizations. Institute counselors are also substantial emotional workers, in the context of counseling, institute counselors need to take necessary psychological adjustment of their emotion to express the emotions of suitable counseling activities for the counseling tasks.Emotional labor will bring workers both positive and negative results. Positive results will help to achieve the goal of organizations and improve the human relationships in the work; if one can not take long-term effective management of their emotions, then the emotional work will affect individual's physical and mental health. During work, one should try to avoid the adverse impact of emotional factors, play its positive impact.In this study, the author takes the institute counselors as participants, using the questionnaire investigation, the institute counselors emotional work questionnaire, the empathy questionnaire, attributional style questionnaire and the job burnout scale of the institute counselors. Meanwhile the author discussed the characteristics and the impact factors of the emotional work of the institute counselors. At last the author analyzed the relationships between the emotional work and the job burnout of the institute counselors. The results are as follows:(1)Male counselors than female burnout tend to use the surface acting. Gender-specific elementary counselors in surface acting exist significant differences passive deep acting and active deep acting of the existence of age does not exist significant differences.(2)The more serious job burnout counselors, the easier they will take the surface acting; high burnout counselors less truely express themselves than low-burnout counselors in the consultation process.(3)Positive-style attributed has a positive forecast to the passive deep acting. The more serious job burnout teachers, the easier they will take the surface acting; the more Positive-style attributed counselors, the less they will depersonalization; the more depersonalization counselors, the easier they will take the surface acting...
