Poem is an art of language. Currently there are many researches on poem language from the view of linguistics. But for poems written by 1980s, few have been researched from the view of linguistics. The most obvious characteristic of poem language is its variability, which is called defamiliarization by Russian formalism theorists. As for defamiliarization, many ways are adopted in respect of morphology such as flexible application of words, endowing old words with new meanings, creation of new words, etc;and in respect of syntax, ways such as omitting a verb or a subject, converting the word order and deviating the matching of words are used. In addition, defamiliarization of poem language can also be realized by means of metaphor, repetition, hyperbole, synaesthesia, etc.In the 1st chapter of this thesis I shortly summarize the general characteristics of poem language. The 2nd to 4th chapter mainly analyses the glossary, syntax and trope of poem language of the 1980s'.Chapter 5 chooses the poetry of CHUN SHU and ZHENG XIAOQIONG as examples to analyze their language characteristics. And in the last chapter, I briefly analyze that how the characteristics of the poem languages of 1980s' formed.
